The Senior Portfolio Analytics Specialist is a member of the Portfolio Planning and Management Group and will work cross-functionally to develop analytics to inform program and portfolio decisions at Spark. This hands-on role will be responsible for strategic financial planning and modeling, including asset revenue forecasts, the Long-Range Plan (LRP) and providing analytical support for the evaluation of new opportunities.


This position reports to the Portfolio Strategy and Analytics Lead and works closely with members from other groups including Commercial Development, Asset Teams, Program & Alliance Management, Finance, R&D and Manufacturing.


This person will have the opportunity to participate in an array of corporate activities in the fast‐paced and rapidly evolving field of gene therapy.






Provide Analytics & Decision Analysis for Spark's Pipeline Programs 

  • Build and maintain revenue forecast models for pipeline assets
  • Partner with Commercial Development to integrate insights as well as in-depth product and marketplace knowledge into forecasts
  • Provide financial analyses to support scenario planning and life-cycle investments
  • Provide analytical support for early portfolio programs



Manage Spark's Long Range Plan (LRP) 

  • Update and refine Spark’s long-range portfolio valuation model in collaboration with Commercial Development, Asset Teams and Finance functions
  • Develop, assess and update sensitivity analysis for potential new programs
  • Align and integrate yearly budgeting process in partnership with Finance organization into the LRP



Provide Analytical Support for New Opportunities

  • Work cross-functionally to build forecast and cashflow models where appropriate for new external opportunities
  • Conduct all necessary analytics for potential collaborations 




  • B.A./B.S. degree required with a preferred degree in Biology, Finance, Economics or other business disciplines
  • Generally, 2-3 years of experience required in investment banking, management consulting, equity research, VC/PE, corporate finance/business development
  • Understanding of the rare disease product environment is an advantage
  • Experience building and maintaining complex market assessments and full P&L forecasts as well as licensing/M&A risks adjusted valuation modeling
