Primary Duties
|
The Senior Scientist will be part of the Pre-Clinical Bioanalytics (PCB) group, supporting multiple fast-paced non-clinical studies for advancing novel gene therapy programs across all Therapeutic Areas. The position requires strong scientific and technical skills in method development and sample testing with a focus on molecular assays.
- Apply strong molecular biology and bioanalytical knowledge for developing nucleic acid-based bioassays to support the preclinical activities.
- Utilize high level of technical expertise and sound judgment for troubleshooting complex molecular biology technical problems and finding appropriate solutions.
- Expertise in DNA, RNA, and miRNA assays, including nucleic acid isolation from various tissue types.
- Proficient with RT/ qPCR methods and modern molecular biology tools such as digital PCR for highly sensitive applications, including gene copy number.
- Comfortable with high-throughput processing devices such as QuantStudio, QIASymphony and KingFisher to accommodate large number of sample testing.
- Independently perform experiments and analyze data to support PCB workflow and meet strict timelines.
- Prepare technical documentations as required.
- Mentor junior team members as appropriate.

Education and Experience Requirements
|
- M.S./ Ph.D. in a relevant field required.
- 3 to 5+ years laboratory experience with a focus on molecular assays.
- Experience in research, CRO and/ or industry environment.
- Extensive experience using analytical tools such as QuantStudio, Prism and Excel.
- Experience with bioassays and testing of biological samples.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for GLP assays is a plus.
- Experience with gene therapy is a plus.
- Experience with basic research is a plus.
