Support the Pre-Clinical Research Operations Lead in the day-to-day technical operation of the translational lab across all the therapeutic areas (Liver, CNS, Ocular, Discovery and Assay Development)

  • Maximize operating effectiveness of translational research programs:
    • Ensure optimal interactions across functions
    • Develop and implement processes that maximize productivity
    • Optimize resource utilization
    • Support the evolution of operating models to meet growth objectives
  • Performs routine assays across the different pipeline programs (e.g. ELISA, NAb assay, etc).
  • Implement new assays or optimize existing assays based on in-depth knowledge of laboratory techniques.
  • Participate in validation/qualification of bioanalytical assays such as immunoassays and cell-based assays.
  • Provide guidance to new and existing employees that will allow them to achieve autonomous operation in the lab ensuring work is completed according to project time lines.
  • Support the Pre-Clinical Research Operations Lead in coordinating the work load.
  • Champion all safety aspects in the Translational Laboratories.



Plan, prepare and perform experiments on the bench in support of the translational Department goal.  

Assist technical staff in the performance of laboratory experiments as needed. 


Coordinate and align centralized lab support efforts across All the therapeutic areas.

Support the Pre-Clinical Research Operations Lead in the short term planning of lab operations.


Implement and maintain Spark Translational inventory system.

Supplier & Vendor Management and negotiations.

Manage translational research samples and materials.


• Strong organizational skills.

• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.


• Bachelor’s degree required; Masters in a relevant field preferred.

• Minimum of 5-8 years laboratory experience. 

• Broad understanding of the technical and equipment needs in a lab as well as extensive hands-on experience with standard molecular and cell biology techniques such as DNA cloning, qPCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, cell culture, etc.

• Experience with AAV vectors is a plus.
