We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Analytical Development Scientist who will be responsible for designing and conducting experiments to develop molecular based analytical methods for gene therapy programs in Analytical Development. The incumbent will provide scientific expertise on new method development and assay optimization based on in-depth knowledge and advanced experience in molecular biology including qPCR and ddPCR technologies. S/he will perform analytical experiments to support process development, process characterization and product characterization. S/he may also be involved in collaborations with internal and external partners for technical transfers and assay validation. 

 

The major responsibilities are as follows, but not limited to:

 

  • Identify and develop molecular technology based analytical methods to support rAAV based process development and platform optimization.
  • Develop and implement qPCR and ddPCR based assays for quantification of gene therapy products and impurities associated with rAAV vectors, characterization of rAAV vector purity and identity, as well as release and stability testing.
  • Provide analytical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Work collaboratively with informatics and automation teams to build robust testing plan, conduct experiments to support process and formulation development.
  • Understand regulatory expectation, write, edit and review internal technical reports and SOPs.      
  • Guide junior team members on technical issues.
  • Maintain GXP compliant good documentation with high level of detail.

Requirements

  • Ph.D in Biological sciences, Analytical Chemistry or Biochemistry with at least 3 years of applicable experience; or
  • BS/MS degree in relevant scientific field with at least 6 years of applicable experience.
