Primary Duties

Immunology Group within Translational Research Department uses traditional and cutting-edge technology to ensure the safety of all therapeutic strategies at Spark. It is also responsible for the proof-of-concept studies design and execution for treatment of autoimmune diseases, choice of autoimmune indications and establishing the candidate development strategy from Research to Preclinical stage. The successful candidate’s primary responsibility will be to, in collaboration with other team members, propose, design, plan and coordinate execution of in vivo and in vitro studies with the goal of advancing autoimmune disease programs.

The Research Associate is going to be a member of Autoimmunity Team in Immunology Group within the Translational Research Department. He/She will be responsible for:

•     Performing cell culture (primary and cell lines) and execution of cell-based immunoassays

•      Carrying out ELISA, MSD, enzymatic activity and QPCR assays with high scientific quality

•      With guidance from scientists/the lead, implementing new assays or optimizing existing ones

•      Providing summaries of data to scientists and the lead

•      Maintain accurate, timely and detailed records of work (ELN)

Education and Experience Requirements

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant life sciences field such as cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, virology, or genetics/genomics. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 3+ years of relevant hands-on experience in laboratory. Industry experience and familiarity with GLP is a plus.

  • Experienced in general and advanced laboratory techniques such as for example qPCR, RT-qPCR, ELISA, cell culture, IPSCs generation, culture and differentiation, plate-based reporter and/or enzymatic activity assays, flow cytometry
