SUMMARY

 

The New Product Planning Lead will be responsible for bringing customer insights and market knowledge to shape the profile for commercial success and inform decision making for Spark's CNS programs.

 

The individual will also lead cross-functional strategic portfolio initiatives and perform commercial assessments for external Business Development opportunities.

 

The New Product Planning Lead will be a core member of the CNS Candidate Development Team and partner closely with the Candidate Development Team leader, as well as colleagues from Market Access, Patient Advocacy, Clinical Development, CMC, Medical, Commercial Development, Corporate Planning & Analytics and Business Development functions.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic commercial input into CNS pipeline programs
  • Lead the development and validation of target product profiles, prepare market assessments and drive patient journey work
  • Lead research with physicians (with Clinical Development), payers (with Market Access) and patients (with Patient Advocacy Group) to address other questions impacting the program and key decisions
  • Liaise with Corporate Planning & Analytics on commercial forecast assumptions and sensitivity analyses for internal and external programs
  • Partner with Global Market Access Drive on payer projects and value story
  • Develop business case for life-cycle management opportunities
  • Develop strategic imperatives and functional objectives with the Team
  • Provide New Product Planning deliverables for program stage gates
  • Develop initial product positioning and differentiation
  • Transition responsibilities to Commercial after phase III initiation
  • Participate in or lead portfolio strategic initiatives, in partnership with R&D, to identify and prioritize new opportunities and present recommendations to leadership
  • Take the lead on congress activities for early pipeline assets
  • Work with Corporate Communications, Medical, Patient Advocacy and R&D on disease area and pipeline asset communication strategy and plan
  • Liaise with business development to provide due diligence support in creating commercial market assessments and championing external opportunities relative to internal portfolio
  • Liaise with external experts to assess new business opportunities
  • Collaborate with external partners
Requirements
  • BS/BA required; Advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 10+ years life science industry experience required; with at least 6+ years of experience in global commercial or in-line marketing and sales
  • Experience in CNS and Specialty disease areas required
  • Launch experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in leading customer insight and cross-functional strategic projects
  • Gene therapy and/or rare disease experience an advantage
  • Market access and payer experience an advantage

  • Authority to represent New Product Planning in all Asset Team and Candidate Development Team discussions and decisions. Ownership for TPP, commercial strategy and business case
