We are seeking an NGS scientist who will be responsible for optimizing and executing NGS workflows for viral vector-based therapies in Analytical Development.  S/he will have experience with RNA and DNA extraction, NGS sequencing technologies (e.g., Illumina, ONT), bioinformatics, and collaborating with bioinformaticians.  S/he collaborate with other scientists to implement NGS methods for AAV gene therapy product characterization and optimization of AAV platforms. Experience with translating manual bench procedures to automated liquid handling platforms (e.g., Tecan, Hamilton).  Experience in a regulated environment and/or characterization studies to support investigation new drugs is desired.


The candidate will:

  • Executing and interpreting NGS related experimental work of complex and diverse nature with limited direct supervision
  • Develop specific NGS related assay(s), unit operations, or enabling technology
  • Participate in authoring and/or review of technical reports
  • Help with equipment and lab maintenance and sample management
  • Work in team setting and participate in group discussions
  • Maintain accurate, timely and detailed records of work
  • Learn and develop new skills through on-the-job experiences

Job Function and Description


Working in the lab to execute experiments and troubleshooting experiments/equipment


Plan experiments, maintain notebooks, discuss and interpret data


Preparation of presentations for group meetings


Mandatory trainings and group meetings




  • PhD in relevant scientific or engineering field; or  BS/MS in relevant scientific or engineering field with at least 3 years of applicable experience.



  • Intermediate knowledge in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting experiments
  • Strong technical lab skills with intermediate understanding of background theory
  • Flexibility to change tasks and order of priorities quickly as needs of business change
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with team and to train junior staff
  • Stays current with relevant scientific literature
  • Excellent organizational, record keeping, and communication skills
  • Strong technical writing skills
