Summary

 

The Medical Affairs Digital Strategy Lead will lead implementation and refinement of the MA digital strategy. He/she will build and maintain all MA technology platforms, including knowledge/document management, Veeva CRM, and reporting. The role encompasses accountability and responsibility for many MA information systems, ensuring all system configurations align with medical affairs processes, ensuring that outputs of each system lead to meaningful actions, and providing continuous feedback to MA Leadership Team members in the form of automated data and information flows. This lead is responsible for all phases of digital strategy including design, platform selection, requirements, configuration, implementation, and maintenance. As a service to all medical affairs functions, this role will be responsible for creating digital solutions to solve challenges.

 

Responsibilites

 

Responsible for development of the MA digital strategy and technology platform presence

  • Continue to develop and execute MA digital strategy
    • Identify performance or efficiency gaps within MA, and tools and processes to fill
    • Track medical affairs industry best practices and tools in operations and technology, and make recommendations to incorporate into digital strategy
  • Partner with MA Program Management Lead in championing Medical Affairs digital strategy and dashboards. Contribute to an MA culture of continuous process improvement based on evidence and metrics.
  • Develop and implement the MA master data management capability
  • Represent MA with IT Business Partner
  • Represent MA with current technology vendors, eg platforms enabling CRM, KOL profiling, materials review, insights collection and analytics
  • Accurately develop budget forecasts for digital strategy and collaborate with IT on spend

Accountable and responsible for the Knowledge Management capability within Medical Affairs Operations. Ensures that information correctly and thoroughly enters MA systems, is appropriately analyzed, and correctly reported to stakeholders within and external to MA. May oversee processes and reporting for, but not limited to, the following categories and tools:

  • KOL data: master data management, KOL profiling, social monitoring
  • CRM: KOL lists, territory management, reporting
  • Operational processes: materials review, strategic planning, scientific literature, therapeutic area cross-functional teams, medical information contracting

 

Education and Experience Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's Degree Required ; MBA preferred
  • 8 years experience in pharmaceutical/biotech sector leading technology initiatives within a scientific or commercial function; and/or data management and analytics
  • Certification in common technologies used by Medical Affairs, eg Veeva or Microsoft, preferred

  • Effectively communicates with team members and stakeholders regarding medical affairs operational activities
