Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to: develop and execute the HR communications strategy as part of the overall Spark story and communications strategy; lead integrated narrative and story-telling and elevate the voice and programs within the HR team (which includes DE&I) with both internal and external stakeholders; engage employees by highlighting authentic stories and communicating the unique backgrounds and perspectives that will amplify our position and investment in our employees and our work in DE&I. The HR and DE&I Communications Lead must be able to generate new ideas and have a keen understanding of nuanced communications as we continue our journey of taking our communications to a new level of inclusivity.

This role will partner closely with the Head of HR and their leadership team, which includes the heads of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, HR Operations, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development and HR Business Partners as well as the Corporate Communications and Community Engagement Team to assure a seamless, integrated, engaging, impactful and fun communications that align with our overall Employee Value Proposition.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

30% 

Lead development and implementation of an integrated HR communication strategy in partnership with the HRLT and the Internal and External Communications Leads and apply a strategic lens to the communications support across all HR activities in support of their goals and objectives.

Develop messaging and communications that are tailored to the audience and written in simple to understand, relatable, and authentic ways. Assess audiences to establish appropriate communication channels and develop content to meet different needs for HR and DE&I related communications.

 

20% 

Ability to work across a wide spectrum of constituencies and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, as well as manage and support external communications where appropriate working closely with external communications lead. Continuously challenge the messaging and channels to keep content fresh.

Champion new, creative ideas through well structured, well-supported, and clearly articulated points of view.

 

20%

Partner with human resources, diversity, equity and inclusion strategies to create strategies to work with other areas of the business to tell comprehensive stories about Spark’s team and culture.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Minimum of 15 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years supporting human resources. DE&I and life sciences communications experience a plus
  • Successful experience developing compelling communication strategies with clear and measurable goals
  • A creative storyteller and versatile writer, with an ability to advise on communications based on both topic and audience segment
  • Proven experience in internal and external communications
