Summary

 

Primary Duties

The EHS Projects Lead is a key member of EHS Team and represents all aspects EHS on project teams, including large and small capital projects and improvements, installations, and turnover and is responsible for ensuring that the project is compliant with the company EHS requirements and other statutory requirements.

 

Principal Responsibilities

•            Single point of contact within the project regarding EHS matters

•            Plan, implement, and monitor EHS aspects from the Contracts stage, through design and construction to ensure alignment with Spark EHS Programs and Standards and to ensure EHS performance upon turnover, start-up, and operation.

•            Gather EHS related requirements from users and EHS team members, including legal requirements, Spark standards and programs, best practices, and Roche Corporate Directives as applicable

•            Develop EHS deliverables, coordinate milestones and tasks within the project, in particular

o            EHS concept development

o            EHS Stakeholder requirements

o            EHS Project and Operational permits and licenses

o            EHS project hand over to ensure seamless transition from construction, to qualification, to start up, equipment reviews and impact assessments

•            Work with Project, Purchasing, and Legal teams to define projects EHS metrics and ensure proper construction contractual arrangement to effect a complaint and safe project that minimizes safety, environmental, and legal risks

•            Proactively consult subject matter experts and disciplines related EHS functions (e.g. industrial hygiene, fire safety, biosafety, etc.) to collect input and requirements

•            Point of contact for with Roche and Spark Risk and Insurance Management team for projects (e.g. fire safety design and applicability, etc.)

•            Communicate with project team to ensure that all design documents comply with EHS Requirements

•            Participate and/or facilitate EHS risk assessments and Process Hazard Analysis

•            Organize and lead EHS Reviews for CAPEX projects in co-operation with Project Lead

•            Share EHS learnings and expertise across the sites and projects

•            Oversee and supervise Construction Safety Expert

Responsibilities

Represent EHS team in the design, engineering, construction, commissioning, start-up, and turnover of Capital Projects with focus on principal responsibilities

Supervise Construction Safety Expert and monitor project performance

Collaborate with EHS, Engineering, and Project management Teams to help define EHS process and standards for large and small capital projects, new equipment and renovations

 Special projects or support as assigned by Department Management

Education and Experience Requirements

 

Education:

•            Bachelor or Master/University degree in engineering, chemistry, biology, or related science, etc.

•            CSP preferred

•            Min 10 years work experience as within EHS
