Summary

 

The Capital Operations Lead is responsible for execution and ongoing enhancements of Capital Processes to support annual Capital Planning, Capital budget development and the Capital Approval Process.  This position will work closely with Spark finance and key stakeholders across the organization to develop and compile the annual Capex Budget while providing the tools to facilitate.  This position will also have the responsibility to support Capital Program Sponsors with development and issuance of Capital Approval Requests while ensuring that requisite workflows are followed.  This role will act as the subject matter expert for future program enhancements to include collaboration with the extended Roche CapEx team as well as implementing automated solutions.  This position will also work with finance, Business Unit CapEx POCs and Capital Program Directors to develop monthly Capital Budget Status reports for Program and Portfolio Governance review. 

 

 

Responsibilities

 

Capital Program and Tools

  • Partner with Finance in the execution of a comprehensive program of capital budget, planning, and approval processes
  • Participate as a key stakeholder and serve as a Capital Process SME in the development and implementation of electronic tool(s) that support oversight of programs and retention of data
  • Develop and manage a continuous improvement program for Capital Program Processes informing with best practice and latest innovation standards
  • Ensure Capital processes are aligned with Spark/Roche CapEx Governance and Financial requirements
  • Ensure Capital process workflows adhere to business guidelines.
  • Provide necessary tools and support to Capital Project sponsors/champions in the development of Capital Approval Requests
  • Coordinate with finance in the development and execution of the annual capital budget
  • Work with finance, Capital Project Execution team and other key stakeholders to develop and implement capital reporting process including aligned KPI’s, Cost Controls and Reporting
  • Develop presentation slides for monthly Governance review
  • Maintain close relationships with key stakeholders including Finance/Legal/Procurement/Business Organizations and Roche CapEx team
  • Capital Planning
  • Provide support and technical resources to business partners in the development of long range and annual capital plans
  • Capital Business Guideline development and implementation

 

 

Education and Experience Requirements

 

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field required.
  • 8 years experience in developing and managing capital budget, planning and approval processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bio/Pharma and/or Manufacturing Industry experience preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience a plus
