The Associate Director, Corporate Compliance Communications, Learning and Training provides strategic direction and development of enterprise-wide compliance-related communications, learning management, and training. This role will develop the strategic vision for Corporate Compliance communications, learning management, and training aligning strategy and operational insights.
The Associate Director, Corporate Compliance Communications, Learning and Training is responsible for the development and execution of the Corporate Compliance communications plan, and healthcare compliance learning management and training. This includes strategic consulting with internal and external stakeholders; analysis, design, development, and delivery of content; role-based curricula development and management of operations related to Spark's learning management system. This role is also responsible for measuring communications and training effectiveness and outcomes.
This role collaborates with Corporate Compliance leadership, Corporate Communications, and other stakeholders to ensure that all initiatives are aligned with Spark's values, policies, and corporate objectives. The Associate Director, Corporate Compliance Communications, Learning and Training will report to the Vice President, Corporate Compliance.
Develop strategy and execute training program to ensure understanding of and adherence to the Corporate Compliance Program and related compliance policies and procedures:
- Collaborate with Corporate Compliance leadership and other stakeholders to assess learning needs and determine training priorities to support the Corporate Compliance program.
- Apply adult learning principles to lead, create, and implement effective training solutions.
- Identify opportunities to enhance learning capabilities using technology, including e-learning.
- Establish a process for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.
- Design and manage role-based training curricula.
- Manage the submission of training and learning materials to appropriate review and approval teams as needed.
- Monitor emerging trends in compliance training to ensure that Spark's Corporate Compliance training program is dynamic and fully reflects leading practices for content development and delivery formats for adult learners.
- Collaborate with counterparts at Roche and Roche affiliates on training initiatives and content, as appropriate.
Develop and execute Corporate Compliance Communications plan to ensure understanding of compliance standards and promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior:
- Partner strategically and work collaboratively with Corporate Compliance leadership, Corporate Communications, and other stakeholders to proactively assess and prioritize communication needs.
- Develop impactful and engaging communications initiatives to ensure understanding of and adherence to the Corporate Compliance Program and related compliance policies and procedures.
- Identify and utilize multiple communication channels to deliver content and enhance awareness of Corporate Compliance initiatives.
- Develop and manage Corporate Compliance Department intranet page.
- Ensure that Corporate Compliance Communications align with Corporate Communications requirements and standards.
Program Management, Vendor Management and Administration:
- Support management of department budget that that funds Corporate Compliance communications, learning, and training initiatives.
- Effectively manage relevant vendor, agency, and consultant relationships to ensure deliverables and work product are in alignment with strategies and Spark policy.
- Create and utilize feedback tools to assess impact of communications, learning, and training programs and provide a framework for continuous improvement.
- Apply knowledge of the Spark Code of Conduct and Business Ethics and all relevant Spark policies, guidelines, and the regulatory environment, to communications, learning and development activities and deliverables.
- Develop and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure achievement of objectives.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Graduate-level degree preferred (e.g., MBA, MS, CPA, or related discipline)
- Generally, 7 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical, Device, or Biotech industry with a minimum of 2 years of compliance learning and training experience
- Generally, 2 years managing a learning management system
- 2 years of experience in working in a compliance organization required
- Demonstrated knowledge of gene therapy preferred
- Domestic travel required
- Ability to travel overnight (30%)
- On site 2-3 days per week
Key Skills Abilities and Competencies
- Demonstrated proficiency in learning management and development and implementation of communications and training initiatives is required.
- Excellent organizational, project management, prioritization, interpersonal, influencing, written/oral communication skills.
- Ability to communicate progress and results clearly and concisely in a timely manner and engage and align others with process and drive execution.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.
- Understand current issues and trends and use that information to inform training and communication strategies.
- Leverage new and emerging technology (e.g., data analytics tools, training platforms) to drive program effectiveness.
Spark takes into consideration a combination of candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required in the role, and external market and internal value when determining a salary for potential new employees. The base salary range for this position is currently from $139,800 to $209,600.
